Born Melbourne Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 15 March 1916 age 25, insurance clerk. Nok mother, Margaret Alice Burridge of Queenslea Drive Claremont and later c/- Mrs H. E. Mofflin, Victoria Pde. Claremont. Clifford embarked at Fremantle 6 June 1916 per A29 Suevic saw action in France in 1916 and appears to have served much of the final two years of the war in England. He married in London and opted for a discharged in England, surrendering all claims to paid return passage to Australia. Service medals: BMW and VM. Cottesloe-Claremont Rifle Club Roll of Honour.
