Born on 17 February 1894 at Birkenhead, England, Methodist. He was a teacher at Cottesloe School before enlisting in the AIF 24 October 1916. Nok father, George Burrows of 144 Collins St, Kalgoorlie. After completing signals training at Seymour, he embarked at Melbourne 21 November 1917 per A71 Nestor for the Suez where he was stationed until late in 1918. RTA in May 1919 per A63 Karoola, suffering the debilitating effects of the global influenza epidemic. He resumed his teaching career at East Claremont School and retired in 1958 when at Mt Hawthorn School. Service medals: BWM and VM.
