Born at Normandy, Surrey England, Congregational. Enlisted 29 September 1917, age 18, farmhand. Nok father, William Cheeseman of Leake St, and later at Napier St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Albany on 8 May 1918 per Port Darwin. Served in France 1918. Granted leave to observe farm work in England April-July 1919. RTA in September 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
