Born at Troon, Scotland, CoE. Enlisted 16 October 1916 age 25, boilermaker. Nok wife, Sarah Anne Cowan of c/- Mrs Partington, Lion St off Grant St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 23 December 1916 per A35 Berrima. Served in France in 1917 and wounded in Belgium on 7 October 1917. RTA December 1917 and discharged 4 March 1918. Service medals: BWM and VM.
