Born at Melbourne, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 9 June 1915 age 25, sleeper cutter foreman. Nok Gladys Cox, cnr Broome and Reginald Sts. Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 30 June 1915 per A61 Kanowna. Served at Gallipoli in 1915, Egypt 1916-18. In July 1918 suffering with debility. Spent some time in isolation camp at Moascar and Suez with illness. RTA July 1918 and discharged 12 September 1918. He married Gladys Lomy Neumann of Cottesloe Beach on 29 May 1915 by special license, reported in West Australian 3 July1915. He died at Shenton Park on 27 May 1952; West Australian 29 May 1952.
