Born at Windsor, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 23 June 1917 age 21, carpenter. Nok parents, Walter and Clara Daniel of Smythe St, Nedlands/Claremont and later 35 Hawkstone St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Melbourne 21 November 1917 per A71 Nestor. In France he was wounded (gas) on 9 July 1918 and invalided to England. RTA per City of Exeter July 1919. A letter by Arthur Daniels dated 28 May 1941 is from 115 Woolwich St, West Leederville. Service medals: BWM and VM.
