Born at Richmond, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 24 February 1916 age 25, draper/window dresser. Nok father, G B Davies of c/- Bradshaws Ltd, Fremantle, WA, later at Adelaide St, Fremantle. Embarked at Melbourne 3 October 1916 per A60 Aeneas. Served in France and Belgium and was wounded by poison gas in Belgium on 27 December 1917 and wounded to the arm and thigh in France on 2 October 1918. RTA in May 1919 per A63 Karoola. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
