Born at Claremont WA, CoE. Attended Cottesloe Primary School. Enlisted 19 October 1914 age 20, electrician. Nok father, Horace Edwards of Keane St, Cottesloe. Embarked Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. Served at Egypt and Gallipoli. Mentioned in despatches by General Allenby for services rendered. RTA and discharged 2 November 1919. Service medals: MID Oak leaves, 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
