Born at Molong NSW, CoE. Enlisted 25 March 1916 age 23, farm hand. Nok father, Charles Henry Evans, Keane St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle per A66 Uganda. Twice wounded in France, first to the arm 8 April 1917 and then a fractured leg on 6 August 1917. RTA per HMNZT-11 Matatua and discharged 23 February 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
