Born at Chorley, England, CoE. Enlisted 8 March 1916 age 18, labourer. Nok mother, Mrs Mary Jane Fairclough of Thompson Rd, North Fremantle, later at Stuart St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 15 July 1916 per A31 Ajana. Served in France 1916 to 1918 and wounded in the right thigh on 16 June 1918 and invalided to England. He was admitted to hospital on a number of occasions with bronchitis, pyrexia and trench fever. RTA in December 1918 and discharged 16 March 1919. Recorded dead on 18 May 1955.
