Farr, Thomas Arthur Leigh

MID Capt 11th Inf Bn. 5th 8th and 13th Field Coy Engineers.

Born on 13 June 1894 in London, CoE. Enlisted 10 February 1915 age 21, electrical engineer. Nok father, Arthur Farr of Roseville, John St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 19 April 1915 per A8 Argyllshire. Transferred to 5 Field Coy Engineers on 31 July 1915, renamed 8th Field Coy 5th Division. When the 6th Division was formed he was transferred to that unit until it was disbanded and was the transferred to 13th Field Coy. He was congratulated by the Divisional Commander for obtaining very satisfactory course results at 4 Army Musketry School. Served at Gallipoli and Egypt in 1915 and in France 1916-17. He was Mentioned in Sir D Haig’s dispatch of 16 March 1919. RTA November 1919. AIF appointment terminated 19 March 1920. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Ocean Beach ( 29) Troop Boy Scouts Honour Roll.
