Flanagan, Frederick

Born at Geelong Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 15 or 18 January 1914 (dates in file differ) age 25, saddler. Nok in 1915 was his mother, Annie Flanagan of Thomas St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 19 April 1915 per A8 Argyllshire. He was wounded at Gallipoli 29 June 1915 and returned to Fremantle per hospital ship. While recovering he married Elena Jordon on 26 April 1916 and her address given as Elena Ethel Flanagan, Thomas St, Cottesloe Beach and then c/- Mrs Higham of Servetus St, Osborne (now Swanbourne). Embarked at Fremantle on 18 September 1916 per A46 Clan MacGillivray. Killed in action in France 21 July 1918. Buried Borre British Cemetery, France, 1.5 miles E of Hazelbrouch (now Hazebrouck) Plot 31 Row E Grave 12. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM and VM.
