Born at Gawler, Sth Aust. Enlisted 11 September 1914 at Perth age 21, clerk. Nok parents, George and Emma Forrest are recorded at Shenton Road, Osborne (now Swanbourne/Claremont) and then at 64 Tate St, Leederville, 17 Cambridge St, Leederville and Shenton Rd, Claremont. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November per A11 Ascanius. Landed at Gallipoli and was wounded in shoulder 28 April 1915, hospitalised at Alexandria. Returned to his unit at Gallipoli 28 July and killed in action on 4 August 1915. Buried at Plugge’s Plateau Group of Cemeteries Shell Green Cemetery, Gallipoli. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM and VM.
