Born 6 June 1888 at Wandering, WA. CoE. Pupil at Cottesloe School. Enlisted 17 August 1914, carpenter. Nok friend, Miss C. C. James, 53 Gloucester St, Subiaco. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1914 per A11 Ascanius. Served at Gallipoli where he suffered severe shock and continuing debility from fever. RTA ‘for a change’ 13 October 1915 per A62 Wandilla and 30 March 1916 he was discharged from No 8 Army General Hospital Fremantle as medically unfit for service.
