Born at London. Enlisted 6 March 1915 age 26, clerk. Gave his address as c/- Mrs Griffin, Forrest St, Cottesloe and as Nok his mother, Mrs Minnie Elizabeth Harris of 68 Broomfield Ave, Palmer’s Green, North London, England. Embarked at Fremantle 9 June 1915 on service record but 29 June and Service number 623 on the Australian War Memorial embarkation roll, per A11 Ascanius. Wounded by shrapnel in his back at Gallipoli 20 September 1915 and suffered shell shock in France on 29 July 1916. RTA January 1919. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Listed on AWM nominal roll as 643 Harry Edward Harris. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
