Born at Ballarat. Victoria, RC. Enlisted 22 July 1915, age 37, prospector. Nok wife, Winifred Maud Hayes c/o Post Office, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 5 October 1915 per A20 Hororata. Served in Middle East 1916, and France 1916-1918 where he was wounded, shellshock, on 6 August 1916. RTA February 1919 per A68 Anchises and discharged 4 June 1919. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
