Born Wallaroo, Sth Aust. Congregational. Enlisted 5 July 1915 age 22, labourer. Nok in 1915 father, Henry Hopkins of Hubble St, East Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 13 October 1915 per A32 Themistocles. Served in France 1916-1919 and accidental wounded on 17 June 1918 while using a bayonet to extract a nail from his boot, he slipped and punctured his leg. . On 17 May 1918 he married Florence Beatrice (Hopkins) in London. RTA June 1919. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM
