Huck, Edwin

Born 18 September 1897, Croydon, Surrey UK, Anglican. Joined the WA Education Department in April 1915 as a monitor at Claremont school. Enlisted April 1915, teacher. Nok father, Joseph Henry Huck, Marmion St, Cottesloe.  Embarked ex Fremantle on 17 January 1916 per A30 Borda. Twice wounded in France, the first on 29 May 1916 with wounds to the right shoulder and the second time on 29 August 1918 when he suffered wounds to his face and jaw and was invalided to England. RTA December 1918 and discharged 3 April 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM. Huck graduated from Claremont Teachers College in March 1921 with a B certificate “on account of war service”. His first appointment was North Claremont and after nearly twenty transfers he settled at Armadale High School where he retired in 1962.  Deceased 1989.
