Born Pinjarra WA, CoE. Enlisted 20 January 1916, age 42, telegrapher. Nok wife, Elsie Gawler Hymus of Winifred St, Mosman Park. Embarked at Fremantle 6 June 1916 per A29 Suevic. Served in France 1916-1917 and suffered variously from shellshock, debility and myalgia. RTA February 1918 and discharged 18 March 1918. Service medals: BWM and VM.
