Born at Clunes, Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 4 January 1916 age 27, loco fireman. Nok friend, Richard Witnish of Bridgetown, WA. Embarked at Fremantle 31 March 1916 per A9 Shropshire. Wounded in France on 7 August 1916 with injuries to his left arm, left thigh and face. RTA March 1917 and discharged 15 November 1917. Service medals: BWM and VM. Died 17 October 1947.
