Born at Richmond, Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 30 November 1915 age 27, electrical engineer. Nok father, Jack Harry James of Leake St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Melbourne on 19 July 1916 per Armadale. Served in France 1917-18. RTA June 1919 and discharged 22 August 1919. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
