Nok his mother, Mary John of Thomas St, Cottesloe Beach, later c/o Mrs Robins 27 Willis St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked on 30 October 1916 from Fremantle per A16 Port of Melbourne. Killed in action in France 4 October 1917. Buried at Ypres Town Cemetery and extension, Ypres Menin Gate near the junction of Zonneboke and Menin Road, Belgium. Service medals: BWM and VM. Harry’s brother, not named is referred to in a letter from Harry’s mother, He may be Allen JOHN who served in AIF was wounded and gassed in the trenches and returned to Australia.
