Born at Hindmarsh, Sth Aust. Methodist. Enlisted 15 August 1914 age 29, chemist. Nok mother, E.J. Kemp, St Leonards St and later at Mason St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1914 per A7 Medic. Served in Gallipoli and France. RTA December 1918. Awarded Meritorious Service Medal (Third Supplement, No. 30, 750 to the London Gazette dated 17 June 1918 and promulgated in Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, No. 173, dated 7 November 1918). Service medals and award: MSM, Star, BMW and VM.
