Born at Nth Fremantle, WA. Methodist. Enlisted 6 March 1916 age 18, labourer. Nok mother, Mary Jane Lanyon of St Leonards St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 7 August 1916 per Miltiades. Served in France 1916-1918 and was wounded in the arm, legs and buttock on 11 March 1917 and again, gassed, in France 6 November 1917. RTA June 1919 per Somali. Service medals: BWM and VM. Thomas Lanyon also served in WWII and died c1956.
