Born Warragul Victoria 11 January 1892, CoE. William entered the Education Department in 1907 as a student at the Normal School and senior monitor and graduated from Claremont Teachers College in 1912. He enlisted on 20 August 1914, Nok parents, W.E. and Edith Love at Dumbleyung and later at 40 Harvey St, Mosman Park WA. Embarked at Fremantle on 2 November 1914 per A11 Ascanius. (Details differ in his service record) Wounded at Gallipoli on 23 June 1915. He returned to Australia by hospital ship 17 March 1916 and discharged on 29 August 1916. He was a teacher at Buckland Hill (Mosman Park) in 1927 and Cottesloe in 1930 where he continued until 1957 as Deputy Headmaster. In 1967 William Alan Love was living at 40 Harvey St, Mosman Park.
