Born at Manchester, England, Presbyterian. Enlisted 13 September 1915 age 32, railway guard. Nok wife, Clara Elizabeth MacDonald of Mason St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 17 January 1916 per A30 Borda. Served in France 1916-1918. RTA May 1919 per Soudan. Service medals: BWM and VM. A Cottesloe Honour Roll has McDonald but his signature is clearly MacDonald.
