Born at Charles St, Perth on 21 January 1898, CoE. Entered teaching service as a monitor at Subiaco in 1915. Graduated from Claremont Teachers College in 1918 and enlisted on 24 April (or 13 May) 1918. His parents were John and Emily Louisa Marsh of 214 Bagot Road, Subiaco. He embarked at Albany in July 1918 per A74 Marathon for UK and RTA October 1919. He resumed teaching with an appointment to Cottesloe School in 1919 and schools across the State followed. He retired in 1961 as a teacher at Mt Helena High School. Service medals: BWM and VM.
