Born at Clifton Hill, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 4 June 1916 age 23, plumber. Nok parents, Francis Maskiell and Mildred Mary Maskiell of John St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Melbourne 30 September 1916 per A23 Suffolk. In August 1917 he fractured his right fibula while playing football and was hospitalised at King George Hospital in London and then transferred to the Australian Military Hospital at Dartford in England. RTA per A71 Nestor in May 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
