Born at Edinburgh, Scotland. Presbyterian. Enlisted 24 March 1916 age 33, bushman and sleeper hewer. Nok wife, Selina May McAllister, of Manjimup, later at 35 Garland St, Victoria Park. File shows soldier had four sons and a daughter. Embarked at Fremantle 6 June 1916 per A29 Suevic. Served in France and Belgium where he was killed 2 April 1917. Buried Berks Military Cemetery Extension, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
