McCormick, Francis George

Born at Coolgardie WA. CoE. Enlisted 20 March 1916 age 18, grocer. Nok mother, Mrs Mary McCormick of Glyde St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 18 July 1916 per A48 Seang Bee. In France he suffered shell-shock after being wounded on 9 August 1917. Wounded a second time on 21 October 1917 and a third occasion to his right shoulder and right foot and invalided to the UK. RTA per A38 Ulysses January 1919 and discharged 14 April 1919. On 16 August 1940 McCormick’s address was 86 Victoria St, Mosman Park when he applied for a position as an instructor in the Australian Military Forces. He noted he had completed a Lewis Gun course in July 1918. Service medals: BWM and VM.
