Born 13 August 1892 at Wellington, NZ. CoE. May have attended Cottesloe School. Enlisted 15 June 1915 age 23, electrician. Nok mother, Mrs Louisa McKenzie of Swanbourne Tce, North Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 18 January 1916 per A7 Medic. Served in France 1916 and RTA per Ormonde with severe rheumatism in October 1916. He then joined the 5th District Guard Home Service on 16 February 1917 as a Sergeant and was discharged at own request on the 8 June 1917 although some papers put his discharge date as at 12 August 1918. Service medals: BWM and VM.
