Embarked at Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. Wounded at Gallipoli in the right breast on unspecified date. Invalided to Australia in March 1916 per A11 Ascanius. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. His 1916 pension card gives his address as c/o Mr Piper, Irvine St, Cottesloe and in 1917 as Soldier’s Institute of Perth. A 1930 letter was addressed to him at 37 Russell St, South Fremantle. A statutory declaration made in 1941 states that he was travelling for an insurance company in 1925 and was boarding in Northam, having left his family in Fremantle with parents-in-law when his discharge document had disappeared. In 1941 his address was Cravenhurst, Kenwick, WA.
