Born at Kadina, Sth Aust. C of E and came to Western Australia in 1895. Enlisted 2 April 1916 age 40, labourer. Nok wife, Elizabeth Mitchell of Napier St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 30 October 1916 per A16 Port Melbourne. Wounded by gas in France 1917. RTA November 1917 per A32 Themistocles for reasons of age and chronic bronchitis. Service medals: BWM and VM. His obituary, published in the Daily News 29 May 1923, lists the family members, mourners and pall bearers.
