Born at Thornhill, Perthshire, Scotland, Presbyterian. Enlisted 18 October 1915 age 25, mental attendant. Gave his postal address as Claremont Hospital for the Insane, Claremont and his Nok father, Charles Moir of Scotland. Embarked at Fremantle 17 January 1916 per A30 Borda. Served in France 1916-1918. RTA June 1919 per Bremen. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls. In 1920 he was engaged to Grace Margaret Puzey of Subiaco.
