Nock, Leonard William James

Born at Arnard, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 31 August 1915 age 18 farm hand. Nok his father, Frank Nock with the AIF at the training camp at Blackboy Hill east of Midland Junction. Leonard’s mother lived at Wellington St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1915 per A 38 Ulysses. Leonard was wounded in the back on 2 December 1916 in France.  RTA per ship Canberra July 1919. While Leonard was recovering from his wounds in England he met and married 18 year old Eva Hester Mary Kingston at Christchurch Parish Church at Bradford on Avon on 4th January 1919. Her father was William Cornelius Kingston a watchman and his father, Frank Nock a soldier, was dead. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
