And later Lillian St, and after the war at Broome St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 22 July 1915 per A67 Orsova. In 1915 and 1916 he spent times at Convalescent Depots in England. Seriously wounded in action at Ypres Belgium 21 September 1917 and died at an advanced dressing station 25 September (later amended to 22 September) Buried Menin Road South Military Cemetery near Ypres, Plot 1 Row T grave 40. His effects were sent in January 1918 to his mother at Aroya, Lillian St, Cottesloe: 2 wallets, photos, notes, cards, cuttings, religious book, souvenir button hook, key-ring with keys, 4 badges, 1 button, a German numeral strap and his YMCA member’s card. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
