Born in London, England RC. Enlisted 2 March 1915 age 18, labourer. Nok mother, Emina (Emma) Piper of Boreham St, Cottesloe. Later a resident at the Deane Prior Private Hospital, Irvine St, Cottesloe and then at Bindering Parade. Embarked at Fremantle 29 June 1915 per A11 Ascanius. Served at Gallipoli where he was wounded in the thigh and scalp in September 1915. On 21 May 1916 he was killed in action near Armentieres and Buried at Erquinghem-Lys Church yard Extension Cemetery, France, 24 kilometres west of Armentieres. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BMW and VM.
