Born at Smythesdale, Ballarat, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 3 April 1916 age 40, horse trainer. Nok wife, E. A. Porter, Keane St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Adelaide on 13 July 1916 per A48 Seang Bee. Served in England. RTA 8 August 1918 for discharge with a fracture of left ankle. Service medals: BWM and VM.
