Arthur’s address at enlistment was 230 Rokeby Road, Subiaco, WA. Embarked at Fremantle 18 September 1916 per Clan McGillivray. Wounded in action in France 5 May 1917 and at own request discharged in England in 15 July 1918 and took up employment as an Australian munitions worker in England. During the Great War of 1914-1918 hundreds of Australians, ineligible for military service responded to the call for workers at the British munitions factories.
