Born at Perth, CoE. Served in the school cadets for six years and the Citizens 86 Infantry for two years. Enlisted 20 September 1914 age 19, agricultural student. Nok parents, William and Edith Mary Rowley of Gawsworth, Reginald St and later altered to Gawsworth, George St, Cottesloe. His will shared his estate between his sisters Edith Mabel and Winifred Ellen Rowley. One sister, possibly Edith, was a nurse at the Grand Infirmary, Manchester, address c/- Mr N. Rowley 35 Witherington Rd, Manchester. Rowley Embarked at Melbourne 22 December 1914 per A40 Ceramic. Killed in action at Gallipoli 27 April 1915. His effects were a wallet, testament, dictionary, cards, photos, comb, pencil. Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BMW and VM. Note: He enlisted as Ronald Lesley Rowley but his full name for a death certificate was William Ronald Lesley Rowley.
