Rowsell, Clarence Victor

Born at Grafton NSW, CoE.     Enlisted 21 March 1916 age 25, grocer’s assistant. Nok father, John Arthur Rowsell, Railway St, Cottesloe, later c/o Mrs Black, Grant St, Osborne (Claremont/ Swanbourne) and later still c/o Mrs Black at Kalgoorlie.  Embarked at Fremantle 18 July 1916 per A49 Seang Choon. In France in 1917 he experienced severe rheumatism and sent to Bath War Hospital. He returned to the front line and was wounded in the leg on 1 April 1918. Sent to England and returned to the front on 12 July and wounded in the left arm on 17 July 1918.  RTA on 16 March 1919. Service medals: BMW and VM.  Brother to John (Jack) Charles Rowsell 1055.
