Born at Geraldton, WA. Methodist. Enlisted 3 August 1915 age 26, labourer. Nok mother, Mrs Jane Rudland of 18 Douglas St, South Fremantle. Brother of Henry Rudland 2788. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1915 per A38 Ulysses. Served in Egypt 1916. Due to epilepsy, RTA June 1916 per A50 Itonus and discharged 25 July 7 1916. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. In 1935 he wrote a letter addressed from Thompson Road, Nth Fremantle. Note: only person of this name and initials found in the Australian National Archives AIF records.
