Born at Buffalo Creek, Sth Aust. Enlisted 28 October 1914 age 22, grocer. Nok, father G.K. Schmidt, Pingrup WA. Embarked at Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. Wounded at Gallipoli with serious gunshot wound to knee on 31 May 1915. RTA 24 June 1916 for discharge. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
