Born at Perth, CoE. Enlisted 5 October 1914 age 28, grazier. Nok mother, Mrs R.F. Sholl St, Georges Tce, Perth. Embarked at Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. At Gallipoli in May 1915 and later applied for a discharge to serve in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve Armoured Car Squadron for Russia. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls. His father was Robert Frederick Sholl, pearler, pastoralist and the brother of Horace William Sholl, MLC Gascoyne 1886-1890, MLA Gascoyne 1990-1897 and MLC Northern Province 1904 -1909. Robert Frederick Sholl died on 8 December 1909.
