Born at Day Dawn, WA, CoE. Enlisted 8 June 1916 age 20, telegrapher. He gave his address as Metropolitan Coffee Palace, Perth and Nok mother, Emily Carberry (2nd marriage) of Day Dawn. Embarked at Sydney 9 May 1917 per A15 Port Sydney. Served in Egypt 1917-1919. RTA July 1919 per Morvada. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
