Born at Perth CoE. Enlisted 11 October 1915 age 22, cook. His parents were deceased and he nominated as his next of kin Mrs Elizabeth Lee Steere of Toronto Leake St, Cottesloe and Woolawa at Moora. Embarked at Melbourne 4 July 1916 per A35 Berrima. William died 23 August 1916 at the Military Hospital Devonport, England, of cerebral spinal meningitis and buried at Plymouth (Efford) Cemetery, England, Grave No 3351. Service medals: BWM and VM.
