Born Maryborough Victoria 26 May 1874. Enlisted 22 October 1915. Nok wife Ada Matilda Tyler, Grant St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Melbourne 2 November 1915 per RMS Medina. Served in the Middle East, England and France. In 1919, Tyler was honoured by the King as a Member of the British Empire, ‘for valuable services rendered.’ Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No 113, 6 October 1919. RTA January 1920.
