Born Beverley WA, CoE. First enlisted on 9 February 1915. Embarked at Fremantle 26 April 1915 A20 Hororata. Wounded at Gallipoli in July 1915 and RTA per A11 Ascanius 17 March 1916 unfit for duty for six months. Re-enlisted on 8 January 1917 age 23, farmhand. Parents dead, Nok Maude Screagh of Burgess Siding. His own address at time of enlistment was Keane St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle per A28 Miltiades 29 January 1917. Wounded in France March 1917 and 26 September 1917. RTA 8 August 1918. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Member of the Cottesloe RSL Cricket Team 1932-33.
