Born at Orset Essex, CoE. Enlisted 5 July at Liverpool NSW age 23, steward. Nok father at Essex UK. Amongst several Australian contacts on his enlistment sheet was Dr Humphrey of Leake St, Cottesloe and he may have lived there while attending Cottesloe School. Embarked at Sydney 30 September 1915 per A8 Argyllshire. Killed in action in France 30 August 1918 and buried in the Assevillers New British Cemetery, France.
