Born at Ballarat Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 4 July 1916 age 22, student. Nok father, William John Westlake of Fairlight St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Albany on 24 July 1917 per A16 Port Melbourne and in France by November 1917. RTA 25 September 1919 per Mahana. Service medals: BWM and VM.
